Do retweet groups help?
Short answer: maybe
However, I’m in the boat that thinks that it might be a false boost to your marketing. Most retweeter groups have 50 different podcasters in them, with vastly different audiences. That variety can be a good thing.
You have to remember that not everyone in the group is going to retweet your stuff. That’s because everyone has a personal brand that they have to look after. If you don’t fit that brand, don’t take it to heart.
Be mindful of how often you ask people to retweet your stuff. It can look like you’re just using the group for your own personal gain. You should read and understand the rules before you post. Also, try not to spam. I would say post your link no more than once per 24 hours.
Also, try to engage and have conversations with the other people in the group. People want to get to know you more and socialize. This is another great opportunity to be a part of something bigger. Try not to abuse it.
Anyone can start a retweet group on twitter. Make sure you ask people before you add them. Not everyone can handle the amount of notifications.
Treat it like a secondary timeline, engage with meaning and try not to hog the spotlight.
